The following are some comments taken directly off of the www.fcimag.com Bulletin Board, I have never met any of these men in person:

Amazing!

I am fooling around with my seamerdown now now. The adhesive penetration you get with this thing is nothing short of amazing.

I'm using nothing but a flat iron and the seamer down now. I am making them over a piece of upside down carpet, but that is neither here nor there. The surface under the seam is irrelevant.

This pic is the one done with powerlock. I tried to very carefully pull the tape off.

Check out that transfer!

This is with k-40. If you look closely you can actually see the secondary telegraphing through the tape.

Your tape is not cold at the back of the seamer down, but it is not very hot either. I feels like it's around 150 degrees on the bottom side. That is immediately after burning the seam, though.

So far, I am thinking the transfer alone trumps all of the other benefits of the tool. I can only imagine what kx-50 or Crain 923 would be like.

I use a flat iron. I'm pretty sure Daniel does too. That has alot to do with the strength I am acheiving methinks.

I have come to understand what Daniel was talking about relative to getting your material good and hot before you run the seamer down over it.

If you don't get your stuff good and hot, you will not get the same degree of penetration. Your seam will be as good as with any other method, but the integrity of the finished product will be far superior if you make a hot back.

The more astute among you can probably tell from my pics that I was not using a roller on my seams. A roller would have made for more even penetration.

I left fingerprints.

I tried a few with my hand because Daniel said that was what he does. The use of a roller only adds to the effect created by the seamerdown now.

Will do.
Anyone who uses this thing will be sold. Daniel is marketing it in a bass-ackwards way. The time component is trivial when compared to the seam integrity this thing creates. I still can't figure out why it works so well. It is phenomenal.

This is coming from a guy who uses a 50 pound weight over a board. My method has been trumped.

I was at the local supply house on Wednesday to get a bunch of stuff and asked if they have heard of the seamer down now. The guy said yeah, want to see one.He had one in a box. It really is an awesome tool.I have been so busy I have not had time to take pictures of my results but, I plan to. I have used it on several products with great results. I have been using it directly over the padding without a seam roller.
I tried a test with a piece of Luxury bac I made a 6' seam . First 3' I used a seam board ,rolled the piss out of it and used a heavy seam weight.the other 3' was over pad w/ no roller w/ the Seamer down now. By looking at the back of the tape I could tell the last half had much transfer. After letting it fully cool I tore the seam apart. The first half tore apart effortlessly the part with the seamer down tore the carpet to shreds. I plan on doing more test on Monday I will take pictures and post them with some other backings.

Yesterday, we had two drop bedrooms to do-15' goods. Tying on to the same carpet (people messed up, and as a result the original order was shorted 24')

We had tons of furniture. The SDN allowed me to drop a stretch towards the seam to correct the bow created from the newly installed hall.(I did not want to leave stay nails in for 10 days (tripping hazard) I started the seam and worked it together, got to the middle, that's when I needed the stretch, got towards the end, I took the stretch off. That application alone saved me ten minutes. My seam was done, I immediately drug the stretcher in to the room and gave a good stretch right through the door. I saved another 10 minutes. Yeah I could coordinate the job so I could go find something to do while the seam is cooling, but that just interrupts the flow of things. I like just being able to keep working in the same room, it just seems to get done a lot faster. Now I don't have to think at all about the order of the job. I can get all the pad down first, not having to worry about leaving my helper more stuff to do while I'm seaming, because he'll be right in stretching before you know it. It's like having more freedom. To me it's making floors fun again.  bahda bing bahda boom.

Thanks again Daniel
